, right now we are going to take a live look on the east shore freeway and 101 san francisco same story, traffic is moving well as you make your way towards the airport. let's head back to the desk. >>> police are at the scene of an officer involved shooting in walnut creek. it happened in the area of creek side drive near interstate 880, christian captain arrived on scene, what do you know? >> as you said, this was an officer involved shooting. >> reporter: you can see heavy police presence and we have seen at least a dozen cruisers from walnut creek police and sheriff's office -- the sheriff's office out here and we have reports of shots fired. we did confirm this was an officers involved shooting and we have representatives from various law enforcement agencies. they have pushed the perimeter back twice to campus -- encompass a larger area. it is up the road and the shooting happened inside an apartment building and the ambulance that was here has since left the scene. investigative unit has been called and that's common with shootings. again we are hearing this officer involved shoo

: a couple found bound and gagged in the middle of a san francisco street. the discovery that turned into a homicide investigation. >>> and a huge day for a huge shipping company. why this could be a record- breaking day for fed-ex. >>> good morning. i'm dave clark. >> i'm it it. >>> we be -- i'm tori campbell. >>> we begin with a big rig fire. it happened at 3:00 this morning. tara moriarty is live with more. good morning, tara. >> reporter: good morning. it's a route that this truck driver says he's taken twice a month. when he came through this parking lot here, there was a wire. he says that's not normally here. that's what the big rig snagged. if you look here you can see the remains of the truck here. now, we could see and hear sparks. there was an explosion and could you feel the heat yards away. it happened around 3:15 at sweeney camp which is part of the juvenile detention facility off fairmont drive. two men were trapped inside the big rig hit the power lines. he just happens to be a volunteer firefighter. >> he trains as a volunteer firefighter told him if you are in energ

forward. >>> san francisco police are looking for a man who broke into a home in chinatown and groped a woman while she was sleeping. it happened around 2:00 yesterday morning in the woman's home at that time jackson and powell streets. police say the victim was woken up by a man touching her and he ran from the home and hasn't been caught. the woman was not hurt. >>> well san francisco authorities have charged another defendant in the killing of a man found bound and gagged earlier this month. the attack left steven reid dead and a woman badly beaten. today charges were filed against katherine wong, charged with murder, assault and being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm. >> there is a thousand pages of discovery according to the district attorney that will be turned over sometime next week. all i have right now are the charges and i don't think i have very much to say yet. >> now five other people have also pleaded not guilty in the case. one of them tyler miller, had her bail increased today from 15,000 to 50,000 dollars. >>> police say the defendants knew the victims. >>> wel

at san francisco, north 101 looks good approaching the 880 split, let's go to dave and pam. >>> many bay area schools are on high alert. channel 2 reporter allie rasmus has more on a scare yesterday that had police searching two local campuses, allie? >> reporter: well, it is a sign that most schools across the country are not taking any perceived threats lightly. here we are in pleasant hill, this elementary school and the daycare, they are all located next to each other. they were briefly locked down after somebody called and said, you are next and immediately hung up. steve lawrence sent a recorded phone message about this incident and the school's immediate response. >> as a parent of two daughters, i understand the urge to want to protect our children in these confusing times it becomes an overriding feeling to want to protect our children. >> reporter: now the police came to all three campuses to make sure there was no viable threat to the schools. the schools were in lockdown and they were safe and secure at at the time. police determined there was no threat but they are working

for this growhouse. janine de la vega, ktvu channel 2 news. >>> and to the latest on san francisco muni. it's back up and running after a transformer problem shut down everything for hours. ktvu aalex savidge live at the -- ktvu's alex savidge is live at the van ness station. what do you know? >> reporter: well, right here on market street, i did an interview with the mta spokesperson, he came out here and updated the situation. he says computers who use subway systems can expect a smooth right. all of the issues has been resolved. he tells me all of their trains are running on their regular schedules. let me show you the scene inside the van ness station. all of the trains again moving this morning. there was a shutdown, though, last night. it was about 6:00 when the entire subway system stopped because of a blown transformer at the van ness station. crews had to work throughout the night to fix the problem. and then finally at 1:30 this morning, they had everybody up and running again. with all of the subways out of service. you can imagine it was a major hassle for tens of thousands of commuters.
